Outside of performance, Ben is an avid composer and lyricist.
His main writing venture is a joint effort with friend Lucy Ireland. Together, writing as 'Barrow & Ireland',
they are passionate about creating new musical theatre works. Their original song-cycle, 'From Here', was produced in a world-premiere production at the Chiswick Playhouse in July 2021, earning four-star reviews from The Guardian, The Stage
and Broadway World,
as well as five-star review from All That Dazzles.

For this project, Ben was sent a melody line for a short song, written over seventy years ago by the client's grandfather but never recorded, and was tasked with devising and recording a unique arrangement for the client to give as a Father's Day present - this is the result!
